OUR TAKE: The first big surprise of the draft for SEC fans. Foster was the SEC’s player of the year last year and his talent is undeniable. Still, there were many mock drafts that did not have Foster’s name included. He is expected to become a specialist at the NBA level (3-point gunner), and his 6’5-6’6 frame gives him enough height to survive in that role.
The Tennessean relays Kevin Stallings’ thoughts on Foster’s selection by Dallas: “I hope that since he’s their only pick in this draft that it enhances his chances of making their team. I’m very confident that if he makes the team that they’ll find out what we found out in his four years here — that he is one of the most prolific shooters around.”
