First the good news, redshirt senior Ronald Steele will return to Tuscaloosa to play basketball for the Crimson Tide next year.

The bad news? His teammate Richard Hendrix, expected to be a second round NBA pick, will keep his name in the draft pool and bypass his remaining eligibility.

Hendrix was the Tide’s leading scorer and rebounder.

Earlier this Spring, Alonzo Gee had toyed with the idea of turning pro, but decided to return to Alabama.

For Mark Gottfried, losing Hendrix hurts, but overall, keeping two out of three ain’t bad.
