Last year, Vanderbilt met South Carolina in Columbia in the middle of the season. The Gamecocks were 6-1 and ranked sixth in the nation.
But Vandy handed Steve Spurrier’s crew the first of five consecutive losses… sending the Gamecocks’ season right down the drain in the process.
After predicting a USC victory over NC State in the season opener, The Charleston Post and Courier now looks ahead to the Gamecocks’ second game of the year… their match-up with the Commodores.
And the folks in Charleston don’t see things going as they did last year.
Their prediction is for a 23-9 win by Carolina in Nashville.
