ESPN’S LOW REVEALS HIS SEC POWER RANKINGS AND MORE

Here are some of the latest SEC blog posts by ESPN’s Chris Low:

Nick Saban took the muzzle off his coordinators and allowed them to give the press a rare interview.  Saban doesn’t allow his assistants to speak to the media in an effort to be the sole voice of the program.

Mr. Low had a chat with Matthew Stafford recently, and you can get to know the Georgia quarterback a little better here in Part One and here in Part Two of his interview.

Georgia freshman AJ Green is getting a lot of hype according to Mr. Low.  The 6-4 receiver is wowing coaches with his speed and athleticism and looks to be a lock to be in the rotation this year.

Leadership will be key for the Bulldogs this season as they’ve developed quite the penchant for getting arrested this summer.  Cornerback Asher Allen told Low the recent string of events won’t effect the Dawgs on the field.

That’s easy to say, but in 2005 Tennessee was getting tons of pre-season hype and was ranked #3 in the pre-season despite a string of off-season arrests.  That team wound up 5-6.

Finally, Mr. Low unveiled his SEC pre-season power rankings on his blog today.  Here’s the list, and bang it here for explanations:

    1) Florida
    2) Georgia
    3) LSU
    4) Auburn
    5) Tennessee
    6) South Carolina
    7) Ole Miss
    8) Alabama
    9) Mississippi State
    10) Kentucky
    11) Arkansas
    12) Vanderbilt
