Linebacker Brandon Spikes leads the UF defense with his play… and his look.

“You’d think it’d be like a scolding look, but it’s kind of a funny look,” said linebacker Dustin Doe.  “He’s not really looking at you with a scrunchy face.  He just kind of looks at you like, ‘You know you messed up, right?’”

The NCAA’s new clock rule (which mandates a new, NFL-like 40-second clock rather than the old 25-second clock) is the talk of college football.  Florida’s offensive coaches have done their research… contacting Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter for more info.

Koetter coached at Arizona State before going to the NFL.  Gator offensive coordinator Dan Mullen believes Koetter’s been very helpful.

Offensive guard Jim Tartt, a holdover from the Ron Zook era, sees one big difference between the Zooker’s regime and Urban Meyer’s:

“When Zook was here, you were a freshman who came in and you had no responsibility.  They couldn’t count on you for anything.  Now you’re expect to learn the offense, know what’s going on and contribute.
