Tyson Lee played well enough against LSU to earn himself the starting quarterback slot when the Bulldogs take on Vandy in two weeks. Lee was 17 of 26 for 175 yards and a touchdown.
“He’ll start next week,” Sylvester Croom said. “We’ll just go week to week.”
So will Wesley Carroll or Chris Relf play at all? No official word yet.
If you want to see Lee’s debut as a starter, you’ll have to be in Starkville, because next week’s Vandy-MSU game won’t be televised.
On the injury front, State got bad news on backup running back Robert Elliott. He’ll miss the rest of the season with ligament damage he suffered to his knee on a run against LSU last week.
MSU will move Christian Ducre back up the depth chart into the #2 slot behind starting tailback Anthony Dixon.
Last note… Auburn offensive lineman Chaz Ramsey has been granted a release to transfer to any non-SEC school and Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Ramsey suffered a back injury in the spring, so the situtation remains rather cloudy.
