CLEMSON’S LOSS IS SOUTH CAROLINA’S GAIN

It didn’t take long for Ben Axon to find another college.
The running back from Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla., has switched his commitment from Clemson to South Carolina.
Clemson, which fired head coach Tommy Bowden last week, is going downhill quickly, according to Axon.
“It was just the sudden downfall of the program,” Axon said about Clemson. “They are going downhill.”
Axon is South Carolina’s first running back commitment for 2009.
