Lane Kiffin knows the importance of in-state recruiting.

That’s how Southern Cal has won so many championships.

While the state of Tennessee doesn’t have talent comparable to California, there is talent.

Kiffin has already started working the Volunteer State.

Prospects on Kiffin’s mind are athlete Marsalis Teague and receiver Marlon Brown, who Kiffin visited Monday night.

Kiffin will also need to recruit nationally to win at UT.

As Dave Hooker of the Knoxville News Sentinel points out, this won’t be Kiffin’s first attempt at recruiting nationally.
