LSU FOOTBALL NEWS – 12/2/08

Despite rumors and rumblings, there were no coaching changes announced on the Bayou yesterday.

However, former Ole Miss coach and current Saints assistant Ed Orgeron let it be known that he would listen to LSU if contacted.  Orgeron is expected to join Lane Kiffin’s staff in Knoxville and has, according to ESPN’s Chris Low, been talking about “the Orange Swarm” coming to Knoxville (whatever that means).

For now, co-defensive coordinators Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto remain in charge.  But if Les Miles makes a move, don’t be surprised if Orgeron or former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Chavis (fired by Kiffin on Sunday) become the top candidates.

Former Georgia coach Jim Donnan reported on an Atlanta radio station yesterday that LSU and Chavis already have an agreement in place.
