Bama Talking To Grant; Georgia Isn’t

Widely considered to be one of the hottest coaching candidates in America, VCU’s Anthony Grant is already being pursued by an SEC school.

Just not the one that was first connected to him weeks ago.

Georgia officials said today that president Michael Adams has not offered the Bulldogs’ head coaching job to Grant… refuting an internet report.

Athletic director Damon Evans, according to Georgia, has not spoken with Grant at all.

“All I can say is… we have not made any offers to anybody,” Evans told the AJC.

Alabama hasn’t made any offers, either, but they have received permission to talk with Grant.

VCU athletic director Norwood Teague said Bama AD Mal Moore contacted him late Saturday seeking permission to speak with the Rams’ coach.

Grant is a former Billy Donovan assistant at Florida and has been widely considered the Gators’ first choice to replace Donovan, if he someday leaves Gainesville.
