Calipari Lands Wall; Kentucky Fans Rejoice

When Kentucky fired Billy Gillispie after two years and then threw the biggest contract in college basketball history at John Calipari, THIS is what they were hoping for:
The nation’s top prospect, John Wall from Raleigh, has committed to Kentucky. The same Kentucky that had already lined up the nation’s #1 ranked recruiting class BEFORE Wall.
What are they now? 1A?
There was much joking about Worldwide Wes and recruiting smoke that seemed to follow Calipari around back in April. But no one around the SEC is laughing now.
Kentucky basketball is back. At least in terms of star power and media coverage.
And with a recruiting class like this one, it probably won’t be too long before UK is back at the top of the conference standings, either.
Has a team ever won a national championship in a the first year of a head coaches tenure?
Is this a guarantee'd trip to the final four? If this team can play together, they have a shot to have 4 first rounders in next years draft. They are going to dominate the SEC and probably the nation. It's hard for me to say this but Cal is doing a heck of job at UK already. Some are saying that this might be the best class of all time. Which recruiting class is better? The Fab Five or Kentucky's 09? I guess you can't answer that until the end of the year.
I believe Tubby Smith won the national championship his first year at UK. Hopefully we don't end up saying the same about Cal after his first year at UK...
