Barnhart Analysis: Crazy Year in SEC West

Atlanta Journal Constitution columnist and CBS reporter Tony Barnhart took a look at all the preseason mags and predicted a wild year in the SEC West. Nothing new there, but his post did make me shudder with the fear that the 2009 SEC West could be the 2008 Big 12 South. That was a debacle. Three teams with one loss. Someone has to be left out in the cold. Last year it was Texas Tech. Although, the Rebels exposed them in the Cotton Bowl, it still didn’t seem fair after the way the Red Raiders inihilated the Longhorns earlier in the season. The whole thing smelled.
Any guesses which team would get left out in the LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss scenario? Well, it won’t be Alabama, and it won’t be LSU. Ole Miss had better win both those games if it wants to avoid getting treated like Texas Tech in 2009.
