While the rest of the sports world is busy ramping up the Gators’ national title chances, Robbie Andreu of The Gainesville Sun tackles five issues that could deflate Florida’s high expectations.
Urban Meyer is opening the Gators’ first two days of practice to the public… but they’ll have to be on-hand between 6:10 and 8:00 am.
Sports Illustrated’s 2009 SEC preview features a series of regional covers. In Florida, a shades-wearing Meyer stares back at you from the front cover.
Pat Dooley of The Sun reveals that Tim Tebow is nearsighted (gasp!) in his latest around-the-conference column.
Receiver David Nelson says it’s “kind of frustrating” when people judge the whole football team by the off-field legal woes of a few players.
As I’ve stated many times, recruiting news usually only makes the front page when it’s big time news. The rest of the time it lands over on Josh Ward’s Recruiting Page.
But we’ll make an exception this time around simply because we like a recruit’s name. It seems Florida is so thin at guard heading into 2009 that the Gators are eyeing 6-6 Israeli guard Nimrod Tishman.
I believe I speak for everyone when I say that I personally hope a man named Nimrod Tishman is playing in the SEC next year.
