We’ve got a few more posts coming this afternoon, but I thought I’d first provide a little catch-all of some of the other SEC-related info floating around the net:
The ever-excellent Tony Barnhart of The AJC breaks down the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and finds it unusual that the SEC doesn’t have a single team ranked between 14th to 25th.
As we mentioned earlier today, billboards (like the ones Auburn and Tennessee have put up in Atlanta) are becoming quite popular in the world of college recruiting.
Alabama receiver Julio Jones isn’t interested in media hype.
Tommy Hicks of The Mobile Press-Register suggests that the Big 12 and SEC should schedule more football games against one another to decide which league is tops when it comes to college football.
This was actually from Friday, but I wanted you to see it. Pat Dooley of The Gainesville Sun went back through the history of the AP Poll and tallied up all the weeks that each SEC school has spent ranked #1. Alabama has been there the most (though fewer times than I would have guessed), but Florida is gaining fast.
Chris Low of ESPN.com has penned a “State of the Conference” column… as well as provided his first power poll of the season. You can see his rankings below… but click right here to read his whys and why nots.
1. Florida
2. Ole Miss
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Georgia
6. Arkansas
7. South Carolina
8. Vanderbilt
9. Tennesssee
10. Auburn
11. Kentucky
