Every SEC Basketball Game On TV Somewhere

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the SEC’s new television contracts as they relate to football, but their deals might have an even bigger impact on basketball.

As you can see here at the SEC’s official website, every single in-conference game during the SEC’s 2009-2010 season will be televised somewhere.

Every.  Single.  Game.

ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360 (online) are all involved.  So is the “SEC Network,” which is simply the new ESPN-produced syndicated package that replaces the old Raycom games.

CSS and Fox Sport Network will also carry some SEC games.  Ditto CBS.

There are changes set for the end of the season as well.  Previously, Raycom had syndicated all but the championship game of the SEC Tournament.  CBS picked up the final each year.

But beginning this year, ESPN’s “SEC Network” will syndicate the tournament’s games through the quarterfinals only.  Then ABC will carry the league’s semifinals and finals.

The more one sees of the Mike Slive’s new media contracts, the more one is astounded.  (I being the “one,” in this case.)
