Ron Higgins of The Memphis Commercial-Appeal points out that new coaches in the SEC usually win their openers… and many of them win big.
Pat Forde of ESPN offers his first weekly preview of the year and in it he gives props to Mississippi State for scheduling Jackson State from the SWAC.
Chris Low of ESPN writes that Larry Smith and the Vandy offense need to step up in 2009.
Florida will be battling history as much as anything else as they try to repeat as national champs.
A former high school teammate of Tim Tebow says that his Charleston Southern team will have to punch Florida in the mouth… even if they get “put down 60 or 70 points.” Well, at least he’s a realist.
There’s a good chance the career of Tennessee center Josh McNeil is over due to an injured knee.
