Below, for example, are the SEC’s Offensive Efficiency ratings after Week One of the season.
Offensive efficiency — which is really more of a scoring efficiency rating – simply measures the number of yards a team must travel (on average) for each point scored.
Because some points come from defensive or special teams plays, this is a good way to gauge which teams simply have the easiest time scoring. The better the offensive efficiency, the better you can expect a team’s record to be. (As long as the team has a decent defense, of course.)
Enough talking. Here are the current rankings from the SEC’s most efficient team to its least efficient team.
