1.  As injuries mount, Alabama’s depth is being tested.

2.  So far, that depth has held up well, partly because “everybody practices like they’re starters.”

3.  One player who was back at practice after missing the Carolina game with injured ribs was cornerback/return ace Javier Arenas.

4.  The Alabama-Tennessee rivalry — in many ways — has lost its luster.

5.  What does tight end Colin Peek think of tailback Mark Ingram?  “He comes to work every day.  He practices hard, he grinds it out every day, he finishes all the runs in practice and he’s a great person to be around.  He’s a leader type of guy.”

6.  Lane Kiffin continues to toast Alabama.  “I love the style that they play with.  I think they play extremely physical.  They play in your face.  They come downhill at you.  That’s what we’re going to be someday.  I like everything about what they do.”

7.  Former Saban assistant Lance Thompson says his old boss wants to dominate opponents and control they way they think.

8.  Nick Saban’s defense might be ranked #1 in the nation, but the coach doesn’t think that matters.
