More Afternoon Links

Just a few more quick notables this afternoon:

The NCAA Committee on Infractions called the University of Alabama a “serial repeat violator” with an “abysmal infractions track record” and an “extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA.”

Read that again, folks.  Maybe it’s time for Alabama to stop appealing penalties and start safeguarding against future cheating.

That’s embarrassing for Mal Moore, the university and the SEC.  I can guarantee you Mike Slive doesn’t like reading that.

Gene Chizik says he had a good talk with disgruntled defensive end Antonio Coleman in which he apparently gruntled his star player.  Chizik said the talk was not about AU’s defense but about Coleman’s injuries… though Coleman sure made it sound as though he was upset with direction and NOT injuries in his earlier statements.

More info is out on the suspension of Vandy running back Jermaine Doster.  Apparently Doster was suspended because he was arrested this morning following a fight.  In fact, Nashville police had to use an electronic stun device on the VU tailback to get him on the ground.  Too bad he never played with that type of determination.
