Monday Morning News

Lots of Monday morning stuff for ya:

1.  Chris Low of ESPN.com has updated his SEC bowl projections.  (We will post our latest bowl primer later in the day.)

2.  Here’s what was learned around the league this weekend.

3.  The SEC has just four teams ranked in the AP Top 25.  Last week there were only three.

4.  The top seven in the BCS standings remained the same… with Alabama and Florida enjoying a solid lead over Texas.

5.  SI.com’s Stewart Mandel projects all 34 bowls right here.

6.  There’s already talk of Les Miles’ troubles at LSU possibly leading him back to Michigan.

7.  This isn’t good.  Here’s video of Les Miles calling for Jordan Jefferson to spike the ball… then saying he didn’t know who told him to spike the ball.  Oh, boy.

8.  Tommy Tuberville and Phillip Fulmer might not get a chance to go to Louisville.  But Texas Tech might be open.

9.  Dennis Dodd of SI.com talks Urban Meyer-to-Notre Dame and LSU’s last minute clock management at Ole Miss.

10.  Ole Miss students shouted down 11 KKK fools who showed up on their Oxford campus this weekend.

And finally, one non-SEC note this morning:

It looks like Kansas’ Mark Mangino is on the verge of being ousted at Kansas.  In case you haven’t kept up, he’s been called on the carpet for alleged verbal abuse aimed at players.

My issue with this?  Supposedly he’s been doing this for years.  No one had a problem with it when he was leading the Jayhawks to a Top 5 ranking and an Orange Bowl win.

Funny how that works, isn’t it?  Anything goes when you’re winning, but have one bad season and we’ll bring out any dirt we can.  That double-standard is BS.  Either Mangino’s abuse is a problem or it’s not.  It shouldn’t depend on his won/lost record.  (Wonder if Billy Gillispie will give Mangino a call?)
