Meyer Fine Now, But Had Chest Pains After Game

Urban Meyer says he’s now doing fine, but that he did have chest pains after the SEC Championship Game which led him to check himself into a hospital.

Meyer was treated for dehydration and released yesterday.

“I have to take better care of myself,” Meyer said.

It’s hard to imagine a more stressful season for a coach — Notre Dame rumors, accused of cheating, Tim Tebow’s concussion, players in trouble, and the constant media/fan pressure to repeat as national champs.

Then again, I’m guessing guys on the hot seat deal with a lot of pressure, too.  Either way, Meyer needs to pay attention to his health.

“I’ve lost a lot of weight this season.  I just have to take better care of myself.  It’s been a tough season.  A great season, but a tough season.”

And now?

“I’m doing fine.  I’ll be okay.  We just have to find a way to win this bowl game and that’ll be 26-2 over the last two seasons.  That’s pretty good.”

Earlier this season, Arkansas defensive coordinator Willy Robinson was hospitalized for an infection after he failed to take care of his health during the season.
