Arkansas To Hire Caldwell

It appears that Bobby Petrino knew exactly who he wanted to bring in when he fired defensive ends coach Kirk Botkin this week. MrSEC.com has learned that former Tennessee defensive line coach Steve Caldwell is expected to join UA’s staff.
This isn’t the first time Petrino has gone after Caldwell. When the coach moved from the Falcons to the Razorbacks, he interviewed Caldwell for the defensive coordinator job in Fayetteville.
Caldwell chose to stay in Knoxville on Phillip Fulmer’s staff — bad move — and was fired at the end of the 2008 season along with the rest of the UT staff.
Caldwell was out of coaching this past year, though Tennessee was still paying him.
An announcement is expected tomorrow.
