Cooper, McCluster “Turning Heads” At Senior Bowl

The Sporting News Today lists a pair of ex-SEC’ers among their top five players “turning heads of NFL execs” at the Senior Bowl.

You might have to register for the full read, but here’s what they’re saying about Florida receiver Riley Cooper and Ole Miss Mr. Everything Dexter McCluster:

Cooper — “He is upgrading his stock more than former Florida teammate, quarterback Tim Tebow.  Scouts like Cooper’s height (6-3) and his ability to get open against quicker defensive backs.  “His athleticism and body control was better than I thought it was when I watched him on tape,” said former Browns general manager Phil Savage.  “I think he’s got a legitimate chance to be a possession-type receiver.”

McCluster — “Two things have jumped out about McCluster — his speed and his versatility.  At running back, he has shown superb acceleration through holes.  At wide receiver, he has made acrobatic catches.  His size (5-8, 165 pounds) may worry some teams, but there is no doubt about his playmaking skills.”
