Look At This Quote Regarding USC’s Recruiting

The Atlanta Journal Constitution story I’m about to link to is focused on the recruitment of defensive back Nickell Robey from Frostproof (Fla.) High School.

But there’s an interesting quote in the story from Frostproof athletics director Charles Loveless.

Look at the ninth paragraph in the story and pay attention to what Loveless says about Southern California and defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. Here’s the entire paragraph:

“(Robey’s) not answering phone calls or returning messages right now,” Loveless said. “He had a visit from West Virginia this morning to follow up on his visit up there. (South Florida coach) Skip Holtz was here last week and is trying to get him to come down there. He’s planning to visit Southern Cal next week. Monte Kiffin has been very persistent. He’s probably been in here more than is legal. Of course they don’t pay attention to the rules.”

Interesting. Obviously, this isn’t a direct accusal of a rules violation, but Loveless seems to think Kiffin has been at the school more than is permitted, which Loveless doesn’t believe is a problem to USC’s staff.
