1. Auburn wraps up its non-conference schedule with a game against West Georgia tonight.
2. Jeff Lebo says, “You want to be sharp and playing with confidence when you enter the SEC.”
3. Lebo believes the Tigers’ offensive efficiency has improved in recent games.
4. Bo Spencer was plenty aggressive as he led LSU to an 83-60 rout of McNeese State last night.
5. It was a good bounce-back game for Spencer, who was ripped by coach Trent Johnson last week.
6. Ryan Mallett’s parents want him to return to Arkansas next season.
7. On the hardwood, UA will aim to upset Texas again tonight at Bud Walton Arena. The Hogs are just 9-22 since besting the Longhorns last year.
8. Point guard Courtney Fortson won’t be back for tonight’s game… and John Pelphrey won’t guarantee that he’ll return to the team at any point this season.
9. ESPN analyst and former coach Fran Fraschilla told a Razorback booster club that Pelphrey deserves more time to rebuild the Arkansas program.
10. He won’t get the fanfare of UGA, but live Razorback mascot Tusk II passed away on Monday and was laid to rest on a farm.
11. After throwing 20 interceptions this season, Jevan Snead might get some competition in Oxford this spring if he doesn’t turn things around.
12. Houston Nutt doesn’t expect any changes to his coaching staff.
13. Ole Miss will finish off its non-conference schedule against Central Florida tonight…
14. And this writer believes the #14 Rebels had better take UCF seriously.
15. Andy Kennedy says he’s pleased with his team compared to where they were at this point last year. (And he had some off-court worries himself a year ago.)
16. UM point guard Chris Warren is a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award.
17. Mississippi State’s nine-game winning streak was snapped in a 55-52 loss at Western Kentucky last night.
18. The Hilltoppers outperformed State in almost every area.
19. Jarvis Varnado is among the 31 players up for the John Wooden Award.
20. Rick Stansbury isn’t optimistic that Renardo Sidney will be cleared by the NCAA this season.
