Tebow, Tebow, Tebow… Has He Graduated Yet?

Anyone who reads this site knows that I’m a fan of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.  The guy is a first-class individual who has stood up under more spotlight than most pro quarterbacks receive.

That said, I’m just about all Tim Tebow-ed out.  So, in an effort to get all of today’s Tebow news — on the field, in the hospital, in Super Bowl ads — out of the way in one push… here’s The Day In Tebow:

1.  Tebow looked better at Senior Bowl practice yesterday… just one day after having a 103-degree fever (I’m sure that’s not been exaggerated) and having to be hospitalized to receive fluids.

2.  One NFL scout said Monday’s workout was overblown anyway.  “People made too much of (that).  We all know he needs work… but his intangibles are just off the charts, and he’ll only get better.”

3.  But another scout said, “Great kid, but some of the worst mechanics and accuracy I’ve seen on a big-time QB prospect.”

4.  A spokesman for the Senior Bowl said Tebow did not have strep throat as has been reported.

5.  I guess he meant reports like… this one.

6.  One writer who watched folks swarm Tebow yesterday said, “It’s amazing.  He really is a rock star.  I’ve never seen anything like it.  It’s almost creepy.”

7.  CBS says it would like more advocacy ads.  (Sure it would… as long as folks are paying.)

8.  Jay Bookman of The AJC believes the anti-abortion ad that Tebow will appear in is simply free speech.  (I agree.  However, CBS has previously turned down other advocacy ads that it has deemed controversial, so there might be a double-standard here… and that would be a different issue.)
