Tennessee Recruiting Update

Tennessee received commitments from three prospects this weekend.

The commitments came from defensive backs Dave Clark and Dontavis Sapp and linebacker John Propst.

The commitments fill needs for UT, writes Dave Hooker of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

“Basically, the playing time is going to be up to me and what I do in practice,” Clark said.

Propst’s commitment to UT could be key because the Vols are in danger of losing the commitment of Glen Stanley, who visited Southern California this weekend.

Stanley told USCFootball.com he will “see what happens” when he decides to sign with a school on Wednesday. Stanley had an interesting description on the status of his commitment to UT.

“I’m committed to Tennessee still, but I’d say I’m open,” he told the Web site.

UT could also lose the commitment of defensive end J.C. Copeland from LaGrange, Ga. He visited LSU this past weekend and received an offer from the Tigers.

Copeland said he’s still committed to UT but remains “neutral” between the Vols and LSU. He will announce his final decision on Wednesday.

UT also received a visit from wide receiver Markeith Ambles, who originally committed to the Vols before decommitting in January.

Ambles told Volquest.com he plans to choose among UT, USC and North Carolina on Wednesday.

“I’m just going to sleep like it’s any other day, and whenever I wake up Wednesday, whatever that’s what I’m going to go with,” he told the Web site.
