I’ve still got a bit of a hangover from the loss to the Tennessee Volunteers yesterday.  But we have a few days to recover, and then we head down to face a remarkably tough Georgia team that is far better than their record.

  That’s what the Kentucky baseball team now faces just two days since Paxton, a 2009 first-round MLB draft pick, decided to leave the team because of his decision to not meet with the NCAA over a potential NCAA amateur issue.

  Well, adversity comes to us all.

  After watching the Suns draw within 29-27 with a late second quarter run, Knight, the nation’s No. 1 recruit, came alive for 11 of his game-high 27 points in the third quarter as the Panthers (24-4) pulled away late for a 66-52 victory.

  I think Knight would look good in Kentucky blue.

  So why is this 6-foot-11, 270-pound 19 year old crucified on a game-by-game basis? Everybody from Dick Vitale to the talking heads at CBS have talked about his immaturity issues. Cousins is a single year removed from high school and many expect him to be as mature as a 30 year old. It’s unfair to judge Cousins until you know him and follow him closely.

  The ESPN guys need to get off the “Cousins is a bad boy” train.

  Workman said he also has been talking with athletics officials at the University of Kentucky, which plays at least one basketball home game a year at Freedom Hall, about playing more contests there. Coach John Calipari has said he would like to play at least three games in Louisville each year.

  Please, please let this happen. I would absolutely love it, as would all Louisville UK fans.
