Meyer Hasn’t Signed $4M Deal

Last week as we attempted to provide you with an updated list of SEC football coaches’ contracts, we mentioned that it’s nearly impossible to create a definitive list.

There are bonuses, incentive clauses, and in some cases special packages from booster clubs that muddy the water.

There’s also the fact that some coaches still haven’t signed their last huge-dollar deal.

Jeremy Fowler of The Orlando Sentinel reported yesterday that while Meyer did receive a much-publicized six-year deal worth $24 million last summer… the Gator coach still hasn’t signed the agreement.

So Meyer is still just making $3.25 million per year while continuing to operate under his previous contract, correct?

Sort of.  Meyer is still working on the previous agreement, but he’s reportedly still getting paid based on the new $4 million dollar deal.

So our initial salary list is as correct as possible in terms of payouts.  But it’s not correct in terms of which deals have been inked.
