SEC Not On Virginia Tech’s Radar

Remember that Atlanta radio report that the SEC had extended an invitation to Virginia Tech? We told you about it just this morning.
As expected, you can apparently scrap it.
David Teel of The Daily Press in Hampton Roads got in contact with Tech officials regarding the report. Here’s the emailed response by a spokesman for Tech’s president:
“All rubbish. There’s been zero discussion among university leaders on topic. Just not on radar.”
Athletic director Jim Weaver said the same.
“At no time has the Southeastern Conference approached Virginia Tech.” He also said the ACC is “the right place for Virginia Tech for many reasons.”
As for expansion, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. But I don’t want to be a part of it.”
