Mississippi State Has Huge Recruiting Weekend

Mississippi State doubled its amount of commitments for 2011 during the weekend.

The Bulldogs added seven commitments
during the Big Dawg Camp in Starkville.

One of the top commitments came from wide receiver Joe Morrow from Ocean Springs (Miss.) High School. Morrow (6-5, 200) said he’s excited about the future of Mississippi State’s offense with head coach Dan Mullen.

“(Mullen) talked about how he’s got a lot of shifty receivers, some that can kind of fly,” Morrow told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “… He just doesn’t have that one outside receiver that can use his speed and his height and his strength to go after the ball.”

Here are the other six commitments for Mississippi State during the weekend: defensive back Darion Arrington from Wiggins, Miss., athlete justin Cox from West Point, Miss., offensive lineman Daniel Cox from Collinsville, Miss., defensive tackle James Maiden from Woodville, Miss., quarterback Dak Prescott from Laughton, La., and running back Josh Robinson from Franklinton, La.

Eleven of Mississippi State’s 14 commitments for 2011 are from the state of Mississippi. The other three are from Louisiana.
