There are four basic reasons while pundits across the country are projecting tomorrow’s Ole Miss-Auburn game as the Upset o’ the Week. Below is Reason #2:

SEC teams coming off their biggest wins of the year have lost on three consecutive Saturdays.

October 9th: Coming of a home win over #7 Florida, #1 Alabama loses 35-21 to #19 South Carolina.

October 16th: Coming off a home win over #1 Alabama, #10 South Carolina loses 31-28 to unranked Kentucky.

October 23rd: Coming off a home win over #10 South Carolina, Kentucky loses 44-31 to Georgia.

This Saturday, #1 Auburn — fresh off a 24-17 win over previously unbeaten and then sixth-ranked LSU — will face unranked Ole Miss.

Beware the letdown.
