The EA Sports Maui Invitational continued a charming tradition that’s part of the Sunday morning news conference for the participating coaches.
After the coaches make brief remarks, they team with local youngsters in a free-throw shooting contest. Each coach and child gets one warmup shot and then two free throws. At stake are charitable donations.
UK Coach John Calipari and his counterpart at Oklahoma, Jeff Capel, tied for the championship. Each coach and his partner made both free throws.
