Quarterback Barry Brunetti has decided to transfer from West Virginia to Ole Miss.
Brunetti, who signed with West Virginia out of Memphis (Tenn.) University School in February, is transferring to be closer to home and his mother, who has recently dealt with health issues.
Brunetti plans to apply for a transfer waiver from the NCAA so he can play immediately for Ole Miss this fall. The NCAA requires players to sit out a year when they transfer schools.
Brunetti will begin classes at Ole Miss this spring with the chance to compete during spring practice. He will join a crowded group of quarterbacks that includes Nathan Stanley, Randall Mackey and Zach Stoudt, who signed with Ole Miss out of junior college last month.
