Former Florida running backs coach Stan Drayton has found new employment. He’ll be joining Jim Tressel’s Ohio State staff as the Buckeyes’ new receivers coach.
Drayton returned to Gainesville last year… just in time for Urban Meyer to resign/retire. He had previously coached under Meyer at UF before leaving for Tennessee in 2008 and then Syracuse in 2009 (when Phillip Fulmer’s staff was fired in Knoxville).
Looks like Drayton is finally landing in a place with some stability.
The bigger note here is this: Ohio State showed in the Sugar Bowl that they are no longer the slow, plodding Big Ten team of years past. They have recruited speed. And landing a former two-time Gator assistant should aid them in their efforts to lure SEC-caliber speed out of the Sunshine State.
