Offensive lineman Chase Hounshell from Lake Catholic High School in Kirtland, Ohio, has switched his commitment from Florida to Notre Dame.
Hounshell sent out the following tweet to announce his commitment to Notre Dame: “I COMMITTED 2 THE UNIV OF NOTRE DAME!!! Want 2 thank Gator Country for all ur support,You guys are the best, but I had 2 do whats best for me”.
I’ll point out that the tweet sent by Hounshell has since been deleted.
Hounshell is the third prospect to decommit from Florida since Will Muschamp became the Gators’ head coach last month. Linebacker Ryan Shazier, who switched his commitment to Ohio State, and Nick Waisome, who gave his pledge to Florida State, are the other two players.
Florida now has 15 commitments for the class of 2011. Seven of those players have already enrolled in the spring semester at Florida.
