Marlin Lane Either Is Or Isn’t Committed To Tennessee

Running back Marlin Lane might be committed to Tennessee, but it’s difficult to know.

The news of Lane’s commitment was first reported by Jamie Newberg of ESPN.com.

Lane, however, told me via text message that he has not committed to UT. Lane also said the same to Paul Fortenberry of Volquest.com.

Yet Lane told Austin Price of Volquest.com (yes, the same site) that he has indeed committed to UT. How close in time was Lane’s information given to me and Austin Price? See this photo from our reporting on Twitter.

My prediction: Lane will sign with Tennessee.

He has also considered Auburn, Miami and Florida State. He was committed
to Clemson until the Tigers pulled his scholarship offer last month.
