The difference isn&#039;t the classes the schools sign... it&#039;s between the recruiting BASES. LSU can stay at home and mine one of the richest talent fields in America. Michigan routinely has to go into Ohio and pry players away from Ohio State. Check a list of Michigan all-time greats and you&#039;ll find that many have come from the Buckeye State. That doesn&#039;t mean Michigan can&#039;t be successful... they&#039;re the country&#039;s all-time winningest program. But it does mean Michigan&#039;s coach has to work harder at recruiting than LSU&#039;s coach.  
  
Since 1988, 251 Louisiana high school products have been drafted into the NFL. Just 158 players who attended Michigan high schools were drafted. You do the math.
