First of all, this post has absolutely nothing to do with the SEC. Well, okay, Oakland Raiders’ owner Al Davis did mention former SEC coach Lane Kiffin — whom he called “Lance” — during a press conference this week, but that hardly counts.

Nope. I was just reading an NFL story, saw a photo of Davis from this week’s presser and immediately thought of… Mason Verger.

For those who didn’t see the 2001 film “Hannibal,” Verger was a character portrayed by Gary Oldman. In the film Verger had been partially devoured by Hannibal Lecter.
