Roberson Open Despite His Commitment To Texas Tech

Cornerback Marcus Roberson from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has committed to Texas Tech.

Roberson’s uncle, Texas Tech graduate assistant Otis Mounds, was a key factor in Roberson’s decision.

“I feel that I can’t go wrong with family,” Roberson told RedRaiderSports.com. “I feel this is the best decision for me. At the end of the day, I know I can trust him.”

But does Texas Tech trust Roberson to stick to his commitment? He indicated that he isn’t finishing looking at other schools.

“I’m still going to Florida this Friday to see what Florida really has to offer,” he said. “But that’s about it.”

Well, not necessarily. Roberson also appears to still be considering Southern California.

“I’m still open and highly considering USC,” he told GatorCountry.com.

Roberson also said just last week that Florida and Auburn were his top two schools.

“Those two are the top two that are really standing out for me right now,” Roberson told the Sun Sentinel. “They are really standing out.”

So Roberson might sign with Texas Tech on Feb. 2., but he also appears to be very undecided on his college decision. After all, he said himself that he’s “still open.”

Roberson is ranked the nation’s No. 2 cornerback and No. 37 overall prospect by Rivals.com.
