Tennessee now has its fifth strength coach since November of 2008 as Derek Dooley has hired Ron McKeefery, a former strength coach at South Florida. McKeefery worked with the Bulls for 11 seasons before leaving to work with the US Army Special Forces unit. (He could tell you what he did there, but he’d have to kill you.)
“Ron has a track record of proven success in the South over a sustained period of time and is a man of high character and integrity who views Tennessee as a program with unlimited potential,” Dooley said via press release. “We are excited to add a strength and conditioning coach of Ron’s caliber and background to our football program, and we believe his efforts and intensity will play a critical role in our programs’ return to a perennial championship contender.”
McKeefery replaces Bennie Wylie who became the strength and conditioning coach at Texas two weeks ago.
