Sorry you don't like the speculation. But I'd been hearing for two months that Wilcox and Smith didn't get along. Throw in the facts that Wilcox stayed on staff and Smith decided to leave (right after Signing Day) and it's pretty clear to most folks around Tennessee's program that a line in the sand had been drawn.

I have no clue about the relationship between Dooley and Smith and did not — therefore — comment on that in the story. I simply noted that the two had played high school football together.

You don't know that Chuck maybe decided to leave on his own based on philosophical differences between what he wanted to do with the DLine and what Wilcox wants to do. I'm sure the relationship between Dooley and Smith is fine as they have been friends a long time.
