If I told you that you could go inside an SEC program’s football offices on signing day, I’m guessing Vanderbilt wouldn’t be your first choice. But through a snappy video released by the VU athletic department that’s just what you can do… go inside Vandy’s “War Room.”
The six-minute clip of signing day highlights is a wise recruiting move by James Franklin and company. The video also gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at their new staff’s personalities.
Trust me, it’s worth a watch.
Who knows how Franklin and his staff will do long-term, but the early results are surprisingly positive. The Commodores had a good finish on signing day landing several prospects who had been considering other BCS programs. And videos like the one above help to bring some pizzazz to a program that for too long has been an afterthought.
Franklin was a fallback choice for Vandy. Most SEC fans had never heard of him before December. But that doesn’t matter now, because’s off to a good start on Nashville’s West End.
