bbah...

You prove that a word can't be typed that won't leave someone complaining. I used "crimson" because everyone on the face of the earth knows that the Auburn-Alabama rivalry is the most heated on the planet. Fans of both schools toss accusations at one another non-stop.

If I put a disclaimer on every sentence typed, each story would be 40 paragraphs long.

So I stick to my point as I think it's pretty realistic to say Bama fans in crimson will be the LAST people on earth to give Auburn the benefit of the doubt on this story or any other.

Thanks for reading,

Why would only people wearing crimson be interested in auburn caught cheating???? Mrsec have you ever heard of the oldest rivalry in the south (thats Georgia if you haven't) and how about Florida fans or do you think they are glad everything worked out so well for Cam?

I enjoy your website but keep your commentary realistic....

HBO doesn't pay for interviews. Watch the show. The story they discuss and cover is much greater than Auburn handshakes. They are merely using that as one example of the corrupt world of college football and basketball. Auburn just has it's feelings hurt because HBO used them as an example.

It's a very well done hour show - needs to be expanded 10 fold.

Just FYI here, folks...

As someone who has worked in the media for 20 years, I would be shocked if HBO paid someone for a story. "Real Sports" has a solid reputation and it's very, very doubtful that anyone was paid.

That said, if money did change hand, then I would have some serious doubts about the validity of the stories being passed along.

HBO obviously stretched the truth about what the intention of their story was going to be (to the players they contacted), so it's not beyond the realm of possibilities that they would also stretch the truth about offering money for said interviews.
