Houston Nutt has a team that looks — on paper — to be built for the run game. The coach went out this offseason and hired offensive coordinator David Lee who had worked with him during his rush-happy days at Arkansas. And now Lee believes his unit is ready to fire up the ground attack in Oxford.
“Our guys know what kind of personality we want to have based on how we practiced, and that’s to be a tough, physical run-first football team,” Lee told The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.
With inexperience at quarterback, expect the Rebels to lean on the run much more than the pass this season. Last year, Ole Miss averaged 207.6 yards per game on the ground and finished third in the SEC in rushing.
