I promise it's the same exact thing. It's what they wear in the game. Some players choose to not wear the band and put it directly on the skin. But it's the same thing. It has the same logo and all. I've seen they players wearing them on campus during football season. They even use them in practice to get used to them. I agree that it's a no story. I doubt Auburn and Alabama are the only schools in the country that this company is at. But the band is the exact same thing. And I am inclined to believe that it's a placebo effect kind of thing, but then again the idea of matching frequencies of the body (really the heart) has been around for about 100 years now (Tesla first came up with the concept).
It's interesting to know that there's more smear against Auburn out there (by Post Game), so thanks for showing both sides of the story like you always do.

Actually, those power bands are a different deal. The bands shown at left cover small holographic chip-like stickers that pump a "frequency" of legal substances into the skin. Allegedly. I'm guessing it's simply a placebo effect, but who knows. The fact that it's touted as a performance enhancer should have been enough to raise some questions from Auburn's coaches.

I think this is a non-story, but the fact that it's making headlines shows that Gene Chizik probably should have quashed the chips/bands from the get-go.

John: We need football! Desperately! This story probably will not go too far. Vitamin or mineral patches are not a big deal, maybe psychologically, but probably not that much in reality. Chizik and other coaches should know their players are wearing them and should not allow their players to use anything that would even be perceived as being banned or ill advised. They just don't need any (or any more!) investigations by the NCAA. Oh well!

I know some of the players that wear these. It's not so much a "patch" as it is the "Power Band" that everyone is selling and that;'s on the As Seen on TV commercials. Here is Auburn's take on it.

It's the exact same thing that the athletes wear and it's what people from just about every schools athletic team wears. The football players have to tape them up because, just like most others, you can't have loose jewelry on.
I don't really know what else to say, but that's all there is to it.

Gene Chizik is quickly taking Lane Kiffin's spot as the most controversial coach in the SEC. Chizik just doesn't go out and flap his gums about violations like Kiffin did, he's a little smarter about it and seems to prefer to keep his shady acts behind closed doors. They will come to light at some point though.
