Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com has posted his post-spring Top 25 for the 2012 football season and the SEC — big surprise — is well represented. The SEC West is downright dominant, as a matter of fact.
While tabbing Oklahoma as his preseason favorites to capture the national crown, Dodd lists Alabama and LSU as #2 and #3. The Tigers were Dodd’s pre-spring #1, but “a still-shaky Jordan Jefferson” seems to have pulled LSU down a bit.
Arkansas is listed at #13 followed by Auburn at #15 — that’s a lot of faith to put in a team with a new QB and 16 new starters — and South Carolina at #18.
Mississippi State ranks #20 according to Dodd with Georgia (#23) and Florida (#25) bringing up the rear. That’s eight SEC schools in his Top 25 and five from the SEC West… sorry, Ole Miss fans.
