Not much downside going to the winningest organization in the sport and learning to play the position from a 33 year-old first ballot Hall of Famer.
Most importantly, after all the negative press, he's got another "legend of the game," his Head Coach, pleased to have him and seemingly more than willing to let him start with a clean slate.
My guess is Mallet's actual chance to compete for a starting job will be a couple of years down the road and probably in the uniform of another team. 'Til then, fly right Ryan; pay attention and watch how a real pro approaches his craft. Keep you nose clean and your opportunity will come soon enough.
