    1.  Longtime Jackson writer Rick Cleveland nails this one: Paying players won’t fix what’s wrong with college athletics. 

    2.  Here, have some data, numbers, facts and figures on Ole Miss’ annual success in football, basketball and baseball.

    3.  Fourteen MSU freshmen have enrolled for summer school.

    4.  Florida’s Will Muschamp says allowing Mike Blakely to transfer to Auburn was “the right thing to do.”  (Kudos to the coach for putting a player first.)
