Athlete Kyle Fleetwood from Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga., has committed to South Carolina.
“I picked South Carolina because it’s an awesome place for me and the show fits right,” Fleetwood told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
It was a better fit for Fleetwood than LSU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Syracuse and Stanford. Those were several of the BCS conference schools to offer him a scholarship.
Nine players from Stephenson have committed to BCS schools.
“It’s ridiculous,” said defensive back Shawn Blaylock, who’s committed to Kentucky.
There will be more. Stephenson tight end Josh Parris is favoring Ole Miss ahead of Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Louisville, according to the AJC.
Running back Josh Moon also has offers from several BCS schools, including Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
